A Place to Slow Down

Every quilter knows the importance of a good sewing chair.

We look for one that's comfortable enough to sit in for hours, supportive enough for long afternoons of stitching, and inviting enough that we're happy to settle in with a cup of coffee and a new project.

Somewhere along the way, I realized that's exactly what I wanted this little corner of the internet to be.

A place to pull up a chair.

To slow down.

To breathe.

To create.

When I started quilting, I thought I was learning to sew. Instead, I discovered something I didn't know I needed. The steady rhythm of cutting, pressing, piecing, and quilting quieted the constant stream of thoughts that seemed to follow me everywhere else.

The sewing chair became more than a place to make quilts.

It became a place to think.

To pray.

To laugh at mistakes.

To work through life's challenges one stitch at a time.

Every Sunday I'll pull up a chair and share a reflection on creativity, slowing down, finding joy in imperfect things, and giving ourselves permission to spend time making something simply because it feeds our souls.

These aren't lessons.

They're conversations.

Whether you quilt, embroider, cross stitch, knit, crochet, paint, garden, or simply enjoy sitting quietly with a good cup of coffee, you're welcome here.

Life moves fast enough.

This is our invitation to slow it down for a little while.
